India’s EV Two-Wheeler Firm Okaya EV Opens First Showroom in Sri Lanka

Electric scooter maker Okaya EV has forayed into Sri Lanka, the company has announced. It claims to be India’s fastest growing electric two-wheeler brand and it said that its beginning in Sri Lanka shows the continuing with its commitment of delivering a wide range of e-scooters to its customers all across the globe.

Okaya EV has launched their first showroom in the capital city of Colombo. This showroom has on display the complete range of its EVs in terms of price mileage and top speed. The firm has also announced the launch of Sri Lanka’s first-ever fully electric bike in partnership with Douglas and Sons (DSL).

The maiden showroom in Colombo was inaugurated by Saroj Perera, Chairman and Managing Director of DSL; Anil Gupta, Vice President of International Business at OKAYA Power and Gopal Baglay, India’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

At the inauguration of the first EV showroom in Sri Lanka, Anshul Gupta, Managing Director, Okaya Electric Vehicles, commented, “We take pride in opening our first showroom of Sri Lanka at Colombo, simultaneously with launching the country’s first-ever fully electric bike in partnership with Douglas and sons.”

Meanwhile, Okaya EV is offering three slow-speed electric scooters—Freedom, Class IQ, and Avion IQ—in both Indian and Sri Lankan markets.

Okaya Electric Vehicles has launched the newest in the long line-up of high speed electric two wheelers. Okaya claims to be India’s leading E2W Company that has already established a domineering position in the battery and inverter segment, while leading India’s EV charging solutions.

Okaya said that it also has future ambitions of developing vehicles for every segment of the market including business and delivery solutions in addition to the existing line-up of charging infrastructure, battery and electric vehicles.

The end-to-end EV solution provider also stated that the company is positioned to become the backbone of India’s EV dream providing end-to-end solutions in this sphere.

Okaya recently entered into a partnership with global e-commerce leader Amazon to bring Okaya EVs to the doorsteps of millions of customers as Amazon introduced an exclusive “vehicle” category on its platform.
